Guten Morgen, Meinen Fraulien

'allo...wie gehts?

Oh yeah, that's German I am speaking right now. I am in Germany this week with adidas and loving every minute of it. We have our annual general meeting here this year and so I made the 10 hour flight on Lufthansa on Monday and have been here since. I hook up with my beautiful wife here on Sunday night, and then we go from here to England for 10 days after that.

So, after landing in Frankurt, we rented a car and headed down to Nuremberg. I kept smiling to myself while driving down that Steph would be crapping herself about my driving and the speed I was going. Funny thing is that the German freeways (autobahns) don't have a speed limit, so I was hauling ass. I think at one point I was doing 180kph in my rented Volvo V50, which was scary fast. Nuremberg is the biggest, closest city to Herzogenaurach, which is where the adidas world head quarters is. I have lots of pics so will post them when I return, or from England.

The highlight was yesterday at the opening ceremony when they did some major annoucements about what we are doing next year. I will go in to detail later, but they also had Steffi Graf, Andre Agassi, and David Stern (Commish' of the NBA) present and it was pretty cool.

Is that a banana in your pocket, or are you just a German woman?

Underneath that dull, lifeless exterior his friends knew an even more dull, lifeless man

Anyway, tomorrow we have 'brand Day' which should be fun. That is the 'ra-ra-ra' day here where apparently they have some huge athletes waiting for us to see. I can't wait. I hope Mr. Beckham is there. I expect big things as it is a world cup year, and that means they better have their soccer athletes here.

Tomorrow will also be a big day for me as a history buff, too. Like I said, we are staying in Nuremberg, which is where Hitler had the rallies all those years ago. Well, last night we drove by that huge stadium that Hitler used to use for all those rallies. It was really surreal driving by there.

The decor has changed, but the stadium remains

Anyone who is a WW2 history buff like myself will immediately notice the stadium as it is very famous. So, I am leaving tomorrow, armed with my camera so check the place out.

Attendance has fallen in recent years

This is a pretty cool city, too. I was surpirsed that more of it was not bombed in the war, but a lot of the old architecture remains to this day. I have some great pictures of the churches, and just took the camera round snapping shots of everything.

So anyway, that is about it for now. I am jetlagged and my lovely wife called me at 4am my time to have a chat (if she wasn't so cute I would kill her) and so I figured I would get blogging nice and early today at the service center.

180 kph? What's that, like 5,000 miles per hour? Does Volvo make a space shuttle? I don't really know the metric system.

Glad you made it safe. Tell the Dassler's I said hi!
